Argyle Backpackers' Hostel is situated in Argyle
Place, in the suburb of Marchmont in Edinburgh.
It lies on a small street just off the Meadows
and is close to the University and the city
centre.
Nearby shops provide groceries as the hostel
is self catering, although there is free tea
and coffee. The citizens of Marchmont are varied,
ranging from students to couples and children,
 and
the visitors at the hostel are equally varied
- though usually on a budget!
The hostel is run by Ged Cameron and his friendly
staff. Ged's interests include his children,
good food, drink and meeting people from all
over the planet. He is a familiar face around
the hostel and lives just a few doors down the
road. The hostel started out as a small business
but over the past decades has increased dramatically,
with many visitors dropping in for a few days
and forgetting to leave this beautiful city.
